Members own the co-operative and the co-operative provides a service they need. Housing co-operatives provide housing. Each member upon entering into a housing co-op will pay for shares in the co-op which will give the member and equal say in how the co-op is run and managed. Members are required to help with co-op duties and work together as a community. For more information on housing co-operatives please visit the Co-operative Housing of BC’s Website
The CHFBC’s website also has a section for frequently asked question regarding co-op housing. Please take a look here to find a list of those questions. If you feel that your question was not answered by the CHFBC’s website please click here to contact us.
